A French designer creates vegan leather bags from cork

Buying ethical, cruelty-free and vegan fashion has never been easier, French brand Arsayo is now even creating vegan leather from something as simple as cork.

It seems vegan leather can be made from almost anything, from apples to cacti to wine scraps and now cork.

Based in Paris and made in Portugal, Arsayo is a family brand that focuses on designing and creating comfortable, recyclable, vegan, ethical, fashionable and ingenious backpacks.

Arsayo’s ergonomic backpack fits like a jacket and molds perfectly to the shape of the body for a comfortable fit. Safety is also a priority with its design, the bag is impossible to open when worn and the manufacture of the bag does not pollute and promotes stable jobs.

The unisex backpack is available in 5 different colors and 3 sizes to ensure a perfect fit for everyone. The material is water resistant, organic, lightweight and easy to clean.

Arsayo’s new ‘Snake & Croc’ collection, which features cork backpacks with a crocodile and snakeskin pattern, is available to pre-order now from £199 and will arrive in time for Christmas. The ‘Suber’ collection is available to buy now from £179.
