COLUMBIA, MO (KMIZ)
Residents who use the City of Columbia Solid Waste Department’s curbside trash pickup will receive their trash vouchers and recycling bags in the mail beginning Monday.
Customers will receive two vouchers for rolls of 26 black trash bags and two vouchers for rolls of 18 blue recycling bags.
If customers do not receive their coupons by Jan. 28, they should contact the city’s bagging contractor, WasteZero, at 1.800.866.3954 or email@example.com. Vouchers will be mailed to the service address, regardless of who pays for the utilities.
All trash placed on the curb for collection must be placed in official, city-provided trash bags with the City of Columbia logo. There is no limit to the number of bags placed curbside as long as they are city-issued bags.
If needed, residents can purchase additional black garbage bags in rolls of five for $10. Charges for additional baggage act as usage charges; customers who dispose of more waste will pay a higher rate. The $2 per bag fee covers additional costs, including landfill disposal fees, employee salaries, and vehicle maintenance.
