With all the shortages, price hikes and other supply chain issues still plaguing grocery stores across the country, your pantry may look very different and it may be missing some of the basic items you and your family need. count.

While some of these products are still in stock, stores like Costco, Kroger, Walmart, and Target are placing purchase limits on them to help keep them that way. About 30% of the most popular formula brands are sold in more than 11,000 stores across the country. Many places shoppers go for this essential are limiting the number of infant formula units they can purchase due to limited supply. If you shop at Walmart, Target, Kroger, CVS, or Walgreens, be prepared to only get a few on each trip, the the wall street journal reports. At Walmart there is a limit of five per day, while at CVS there is a limit of three per transaction.

A recall of three of Abbott Nutrition’s baby formulas is also affecting what’s on the shelves. Similac, Alimentum and EleCare formulas were recalled in February after it was discovered they may be contaminated with Salmonella. Several illnesses and one death are believed to be linked to products made in a factory in Michigan but sold across the United States.

Desperate parents have already taken extreme measures to feed their children, like using social media to get help from others, and now they’ll have to think about how many containers of baby formula they can buy from the store.

Like other grocery chains, Costco also limits the number of items certain members can purchase. The chain of warehouses is a known place for bulk buying, and with supply of some items still low, the company is placing limits on several products, and one type of sugar is included.

On Reddit, a member revealed that they noticed a limit on Imperial Pure Cane Sugar of 10 pounds in the warehouse. They said they could only buy two at a time, when normally they stock up with about 10-15 at a time.

The limit seems to be also in place onlinewith only one $7.99 bag of sugar allowed per member.

Another limit imposed at the moment concerns gasoline at Costco. Members notice the pumps cutting out $100 worth of gas. Warehouse chain gas stations are very popular right now – with gas prices so high, some people join for $60 just to take advantage of the chain’s savings.

Reddit members say the $100 limit for gasoline has always existed, but is obviously less achievable when gasoline prices are around normal levels.

Costco.com offers a wide selection of products, but there are currently limits on the quantity of certain products members can purchase. Items like active dry yeast, household cleaning gloves, printers, tuna, canola oil, canned salmon, plastic wrap, soy milk, macaroni and cheese, and more are all set to only a few units allowed per member.

In the warehouse and online, Costco members can only purchase a few pet foods at a time. “We’ve temporarily put a 1 limit on all pet food to allow as many members as possible to purchase product. We apologize for any inconvenience,” Costco says on a sign in a warehouse, according to a Reddit post. For those thinking of heading to Costco.com to stock up, know that Kirkland Signature Nature’s Domain Canned Dog Food is the only one with a limit right now.

Despite all these limitations and rising inflation, this discount grocery chain promises to keep prices low right now.
