Inside the huge beauty event taking place at the Trafford Center

A mammoth three-day beauty event is heading to the Trafford Center – its biggest indoor event since 2019 – and as well as handing out goody bags and giveaways, it will encourage diversity while raising awareness of breast cancer.

Volunteers wearing giant boob costumes are ready to turn heads and visitors can walk away with a slew of skincare, discounts, goodie bags and prizes at the April 29-May 1 event. A powerhouse performance, choreographed by creative director Paul Swaby, will feature a diverse cast of talent named ‘The Beauty Tribe’ and will take place around the center’s main dome between 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. daily during the event. The performance aims to encourage self-acceptance and inspire visitors to feel confident and comfortable in “their own beautiful skin”.

National breast cancer awareness charity CoppaFeel! will also be at the center on Saturday April 30 to help raise breast cancer awareness with their team of volunteers called the Boobettes. The team will hand out handouts and stickers while dressed in giant boob costumes.

To celebrate the eve of the religious holiday of Eid, the center will come alive with festivities from 6pm to 10pm on Friday 29th and from 6pm to 9pm on Saturday 30th April. There will be floating harp music in the malls, henna art workshops and a performance that combines traditional instruments, music, costumes and dance from the award-winning SonAash sisters and DnS Dholis.

A range of demonstrations, workshops, one-on-one consultations and product offerings backed by beauty giants Selfridges and John Lewis will also take place at a new temporary beauty studio on Orient Way. A pop-up from international brand Charlotte Tilbury will also be available from Saturday 30 April. Boots the chemist will host a separate consultation area while the Therapy beauty clinic will offer skincare, discounts, goodie bags and prizes over a two-year period. day period.
