Manila Times wins Brand of the Year award

THE Manila Times won the award for Outstanding Filipino Brand of the Year in the Media Category at the 6th Annual Outstanding Men and Women of the Philippines and Outstanding Filipino Brand of the Year awards on Saturday at Greenhills in the city of San Juan.

Times President and CEO Dante “Klink” Ang 2nd accepted the award for the country’s oldest English daily.

The other winners in the media category were SMNI and Net 25.

Chief of the Public Prosecutor’s Office and Times columnist Persida Rueda-Acosta accepted her second award in six years as one of the Philippines’ most outstanding men and women.

Nunungan, Mayor of Lanao del Norte, Marcos Mamay, won his first award as one of the most outstanding men.

Honorees from the entertainment, media and broadcast industries include Ken Chan, Teejay Marquez, Jane de Leon, Jak Roberto, Kim Rodriguez, Gerald Santos, Maricel Soriano, Mel Martinez, William Martinez, John Nite, Sephie Francisco, Jmko Manguba , William Thio, Evangeline Pascual, Maridol Rañoa-Bismark, Eton Concepcion, Fernan de Guzman, Pilar Mateo, Sunshine Dizon, Kelvin Miranda, David Chua, Ray An Dulay, Romm Burlat, Ina Alegre (now mayor of Pola, Oriental Mindoro ), Wacky Kiray, Vince Tañada, Chino Philyang and Arjo Atayde.

The beauty and fashion industry winners were Herlene Nicole Budol, Joel Cruz, Mitch Lucas, Daphne Chloe Villamor, Wilbert Tolentino, Anna Lisa Amar Eugenio, Betty Aw, Andrew Badiola, Michael Cinco, Riza Dormiendo and Ali Forbes .

Business winners included Andrea Shine Talladfer Agaton and Essah Hambali.

Led by Richard Hiñola as a philanthropic advocacy for his magazine Best (Beauty, Empowered people, Style, Tourism), the Outstanding Men and Women of the Philippines and Outstanding Filipino Brand of the Year honored countless Filipinos for their contributions to improving the lot of the less privileged in society or their leadership in the many aspects of nation building.

The winners were chosen on the basis of their power and influence, assessing their contributions to society and the nation, the advocacy they have initiated or taken an active part in and which serve as an inspiration to others.

Branding, on the other hand, deals with the core values ​​of the product, entity or service, and how the brand is projected to its customer base in the market.
