Pokemon Themed Donut Lucky Bag is Full of Sweet Surprises

Mister Donut makes us feel like the best, like no one has ever been in this New Year.

Now that Christmas is behind us and the New Years are just around the corner, it’s time to celebrate Christmas season. fukubukuro lucky bags in Japan.

The one we look forward to buying every year is the fukubukuro from the famous Mister Donut chain, who partnered with Pokémon franchise for their New Year’s lucky bags in recent years. The collaboration has proven to be so successful that the Pocket Monsters of the series are once again the stars of the series this year, and if you think we’re kidding when we say these bags are popular, take a look at the line we joined to get one.

It is 30 minutes before the store opens the day of the release on December 26.

As expected, this Pokemon battle was fierce, with rewards only awarded to the most dedicated trainers. Fortunately, our reporter Tasuku Egawa was one of those trainers, who was able to purchase one of the lucky bags, which are actually packed in adorable boxes.

Tasuku has bought a Mister Donut lucky bag every year since 2018, and in his experience, the 3,300 yen (US $ 28.75) bags always turn out to be the best value (there are usually 1,100 yen, 2,200 yen and 3,300 yen). yen bags available). However, this year a premium pack costing 5,500 yen was released for the first time, so Tasuku decided to give it a try.

Was it a good deal? Well, let’s take a look at the content.

First of all, we have a ecological bag, which comes in one of two designs – a yellow with a large Pikachu holding a donut on it, or a pink adorned with a group of donut lovers Pokemon.

▼ The one Tasuku received was a pretty rose.

Then it’s a poached, which comes with the same design but in one of two colors: blue or pink.

One of the pillars of the lucky bags every year is an exclusive calendar, and this year’s version features a different gang than last year, consisting of Pikachu, Eevee, Bunneary, and Leafeon, with Piplup, Pachirisu and Ice Cream, whose buttocks we ate earlier this year.

Every calendar page is filled with glorious images of donuts and Pokémon!

▼ The lucky bag also includes a zipped bag …

▼… duct tape…

▼… and a 2022 calendar, with the yellow Pikachu design holding a donut.

▼ The book comes with two different double-sided covers, so you can change things up throughout the year.

▼ The best item in the entire collection for Tasuku, however, was this great Pikachu cushion!

▼ After a little plumping, the cushion would grow to a size of 40 by 50 centimeters (15.7 by 19.7 inches).

Since these items are not available for general sale, this lucky bag was definitely a great buy. However, that was not the end of the fun, as the bag also comes with two vouchers, which can be redeemed before May 31 for 50 – yes, 50! – donuts, priced at 160 yen each or less.

This equates to 8,000 yen worth of donuts, which is already way more than the 5,500 yen cost of the bag, which means all the Pokémon merchandise we received was virtually free!

Tasuku wanted to hit the air like a trainer winning a battle, and you’ll want that too, if you manage to get your hands on a bag before it sells out. Even if you aren’t able to grab one this time around, don’t worry, there are still those Pokémon chocolates to look forward to on Valentine’s Day!
