Summit offering a simple shopping experience

The Summit is one of only five locations in the country to offer One Bag.

Amy Hicks, head of marketing at Bayer Properties, said while customers have been able to shop online at The Summit, this new process makes it even easier.

“Because many retailers are nationwide, they don’t stock all products in stores,” she said. “There’s always a backlog in online shopping, and we felt like it wasn’t much different from going to Amazon and waiting two or more days for delivery.”

The Summit worked with its website host to create the software and connect the stores that have the products available in-store. Now, customers can buy from multiple online stores and make only one purchase.

Hicks said this is huge for The Summit and also for the Southeast, as the closest mall that offers this service is The Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota.

“We’re very excited and have been working on this for a long time,” Hicks said. “We have people hired to pick up the items, and everything is on a very secure network. [Customers] can pick it up curbside so they don’t have to go to the shops and run around the Summit. There is a designated pickup point at Saks Plaza, and a member of staff will bring the items [to your vehicle.]”

A same day delivery option is also available within a 10 mile radius and is built into the price. The Summit also has partnerships with Uber Eats and DoorDash.

The program launched at the end of April and can be viewed online at shop.thesummitbirmingham.comshop.thesummitbirmingham.com.
