Tulane Hands SLU Home Loss


HAMMOND, Louisiana – The University of Southeast Louisiana baseball team fell, 23-1, to Tulane in non-conference action Wednesday at the Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field.

SLU (3-5) resumed its only run late in the third, already trailing the green wave (7-1) by nine.

Preston Faulkner tore up a brace with a takedown on the head of the central defender. He stole third base like Tyler Finke walked one with two out on a total pitch and then came home to score on a wild pitch.

Tulane scored throughout the game – collecting a run in the first inning, eight in the third, a pair in the fourth, eight more in the fifth, three in the seventh and a final run in the ninth.

Carter Robinson (1-0) earned the win for Tulane, allowing one run in five innings pitched. He scatter four hits, one walk and three hits, striking out one. Lance Lava (0-1) suffered the loss, allowing nine runs – seven earned – in 2.1 innings of work.

Southeastern used eight pitchers in the game – Lauve, Kyle Bartley, Brock Batty, Andrew Yuratitch, Alex Potter, Noah Smith, Christian Westcot and Ethan Crayton.

Joining Faulkner with hits for the Lions was Field Artigues, Evan Keller and Shea Thomas.


Southeastern wraps up its five-game ESPN+ homestand against No. 25-ranked Louisiana Tech on Wednesday. The first pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field.

Single tickets are on sale for the remainder of the regular season. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance to minimize queues on match days. South East students are encouraged to contact the box office prior to the game to reserve theirs in advance.

General admission tickets are $9 for adults and $6 for youth (ages 3-12). Students from the South East, with a university ID, and children under 2 years old are admitted free. Gameday parking is $5 per day for standard vehicles and $25 for RVs.
