Italian luxury house Fendi is entering the web3 through a partnership with global digital asset management platform Ledger.
As part of the new venture, Fendi and Ledger are launching a first collection of technology accessories designed by Silvia Venturini Fendi that brings the high craftsmanship of the legacy brand to a unique case designed for Ledger’s secure crypto wallet. The designs were unveiled at Fendi’s Fall/Winter 2022-2023 men’s show on January 15.
A rectangular design recalls the brand’s structured “Baguette” bag and is rendered in miniature form using polished aluminum with a raised rivet and buckle detail. The device opens to reveal a comfortable pocket for the Ledger Nano X digital wallet.
A second hardware wallet elevates the Fendi “O’Lock” chain into a capsule shape with an embossed FF frame and a concealed hinge that opens and closes. Both models have a rotating carabiner to attach to a bag or belt and an adjustable cord with double rocker. Future variations on the polished aluminum design include leather inserts, gold plating and a shimmering pavé surface of cubic zirconia.
“Through this pioneering union, Fendi and Ledger recognize the limitless possibilities of Web 3.0 and the metaverse, ushering in a new generation of luxury and craftsmanship that bridges the physical and virtual worlds,” the company said in a statement. “Recognizing the creative and collaborative spirit of the crypto community, these first coins offer a glimpse of a near future, where digital memories and collectibles live hand-in-hand with tangible items. art.”
Ledger Nano X accessories will be available on Fendi.com from June 2022.
