Philadelphia’s First-Ever ‘Bark Bowl’ at Craft Hall Brings Local Flair to Annual Dog Show

We’re just a week away from Super Bowl Sunday, where the Los Angeles Rams take on the Cincinnati Bengals on Feb. 13. will be televised on Sunday at 11 a.m. – hours before kickoff.

For those looking for a different way to celebrate the Super Bowl this year, Craft Hall is hosting its first-ever Bark Bowl in partnership with the SPCA of Pennsylvania, inspired by the Animal Planet dog show on Saturday, February 12. From noon to 2 p.m., Craft Hall will transform into its own indoor dog park, offering both competition and friendly entertainment for dog lovers and Super Bowl fans.

The city is the only beer garden and dog park will be open outdoors all day and guests will be able to meet some of the dogs and handlers throughout the show. The PSPCA will be on hand with the adoptables and will be available to discuss the adoption process with anyone interested.

“The SPCA of Pennsylvania is thrilled to be participating in this year’s Bark Bowl at Craft Hall,” said Gillian Koche, Public Relations Manager for the PSPCA. “Not only will the event invite dog owners to celebrate the big game, but it will also bring some much-needed attention to these dogs still looking for their forever families. We look forward to introducing families to their new MVPs (the most precious puppies!).”

The dogs will be split into two teams to compete in a three-game series, plus a halftime show featuring the dogs playing with bubbles. The 10-minute “Big Game” will feature the pups racing to move chew toys from one end zone to the other. There will be an agility course, with hula hoop jumps and cones to warm up before the games. There will also be the “Fumble Recovery”, where dogs will line up to race to pick up a chew toy, and the announcer will award the MVP of the competition.

The PSPCA will sell its pint glasses, with a free draft beer included with the purchase of the glass. $1 from any puppy-themed cocktail purchase will be donated to support the PSPCA as part of the partnership. The full dog-themed cocktail menu is listed below.
